Q. Do I need to be referred by my dentist?
A. Yes - if you reside in Shropshire or Powys and are under 18 years of age as you do qualify for an NHS assessment.

 

No - if you are 18 years old or over you do not qualify for treatment under our NHS contract. However we would be happy to provide treatment on a private basis.  Please book a private consultation on line by filling in the Self Referral Form opposite or ring the centre on 01743 344921  

 

Q. Do I still need to visit my dentist while under orthodontic treatment?
A. Yes - We maintain and adjust your braces but your regular dentist must see you for routine checkups as usual.

 

Q. Can adults have orthodontic treatment as well as children?
A. Yes - Orthodontics can be done at any age.  Children can have treatment on the NHS if their case is severe enough.  However if you are 18 years or over treatment is also available on a private basis.  This enables you to have a choice of more aesthetically pleasing types of appliances.  Types of aesthetic braces.

 

Q. How long does treatment take?
A. Treatment can take as little as 6 months or as long as 3 years depending on what needs to be achieved.  When you attend your initial consultation appointment this is one of the many questions that will be answered.

 

Q. Can I have after school appointments?
A. No - Appointments will have to be in school hours as we do not work evenings or Saturdays at the moment.
